This chapter focuses on the impact that the development of a specifically Jewish public sphere had on the form, content, and style of Jewish culture and politics in Warsaw. By closely examining the critical role played by coffeehouses, theaters, and newspapers, this chapter argues that this new style of culture and politics was rooted in the several key institutions that helped construct the new Jewish public sphere in Warsaw.
