Orders and Their Urban Ministries
This chapter focuses on the core functions of the mendicant orders in their urban ministries. These functions and services include preaching, confessing, celebrating masses, providing devotional opportunities, and praying. This chapter explains that the orders also became involved in urban and educational missions. It also proposes some correctives to the views about the relationships between regular clergy or members of orders and secular clergy or the diocesan clergy.
