This chapter examines the role of the RAND Corporation in shaping the directions and leaders of the reform of business schools in North America in the 1950s. It discusses the creed of RAND and explains that while RAND played little or no direct role in the changes, it served as the place where ideas about the future course of research and policy making were exercised and elaborated by a community of scholars. This chapter also mentions that key figures in the development of RAND subsequently became key figures in the reform of business schools.
