The International Judiciary
This chapter explores the institutions and institutional changes needed to meet human rights demands, focusing on the international judiciary. It first examines the role of the judiciary in the national legal system, and then explores how parallel judicial functions are carried out at the international level. The chapter concludes with an analysis of the possible role of judiciaries in protecting human rights in the global and international organization contexts, taking particular account of the role of judicial review.
