“Electricity for All”
The conclusion extends the arguments of the previous chapters in two directions. The first and larger of the two tasks considers how well the arguments of the book travel to other states in India. This chapter examines the politics of electrification in Punjab, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal. The last short section of the book reflects on events in the past ten years, after passage of the Electricity Act of 2003, specifically the massive blackout in July 2012 that affected large parts of northern, northeastern, and eastern India.
